Cape Town based mixologist Chris Ilus is mixing his way to the top.
Earlier this year Chris’s La Meta, an apricot-spiced tequila and chilli creation, knocked out the competition in the South African leg of Tahona Society‘s cocktail competition. Later this year he will be jetting-off to Mexico to complete in the world finals.
We caught up with Chris at local Cape Town cocktail stronghold, Orphanage Emporium, and asked him to share his favourite hangover cure.
The Black House Cocktail
Ingredients
50ml Cocktail onions infusion scotch whisky of your choice.
1bsp Strawberry jam
15ml Guinness syrup (2part Sucre 1part Guinness beer)
50ml Red plums juice
40ml Fresh lemon juice
Directions
Shake and serve in coupe class. No ice.
