Rum Tum Tum popped up earlier this month in Bree Street, all set to purvey vogue rum, either straight to your lowball or cloaked-up in an invigorating cocktail, you decide. The vibrant Cuban inspired shabby chic interior welcomes thirsty pirates and inquisitive social-snappers with the aspirations of day drinking and Instagramable selfies. An extensive rum menu covers everything from the Caribbean to the Vrystaat and is relatively merciful on the wallet, bar Appleton Estate’s 21-year old rum which could cause financial ruins at R240 per tot.
Created by Thirst Bar Services, a mobile bar solution, Rum Tum Tum is set to be the casa of rum in Cape Town during the dog days and will grace Bree Street until the end of summer when developers plan to knock the building down.
