Only a few years ago Cape Town was a sad little tapless town, unable to properly marinate any IPA-seeking hipster-moustache. Fast-forward to today and the Mother City spawned just enough brewery taprooms for us to create yet other fatuous list.
We round up 15 of Cape Town’s craft breweries and ask them to tell us what their cheapest pint costs, as well as what’s the cheapest beer you can order at their taproom.
Prices varied from R25 to R40 for a pint, while a dumpie will only set your back R21.50 at Woodstock Brewery. And at an average of R32 a pint it seems that Cape Town might indeed be the cheapest place in the world to buy a beer.
